How we protect your data, handle participant anonymity, and secure your information architecture resources.
Last Updated: March 26, 2026
At UX Metrics, LLC ("we", "our", or "us"), we prioritize your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of data we collect, how we use it, and the strict technical and operational safeguards we've established to ensure both customer and research participant data remains secure.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect the absolute minimum amount of information required to provide, secure, and improve the UX Metrics platform.
Customer Account Information: When you register for UX Metrics, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials.
Billing Information: Payments for UX Metrics Pro are securely processed by Stripe. We do not process, record, or store any raw credit card numbers or highly sensitive financial data on our servers.
Study Data: We store the results of your card sorts, tree tests, and associated metadata (e.g., categorizations, task times). You completely own this data.
2. Anonymity of Research Participants
We are relentlessly focused on protecting research participants. Research participants do not need an account or login to take part in your studies.
By default, UX Metrics does not query, collect, or store personal identifiable information (PII) from research participants. Participants remain completely anonymous. We do not install intrusive third-party non-essential cookies to track them across the web post-study. PII is only collected from participants if you, the researcher, intentionally configure custom demographic screening questions that request it.
3. How We Use Information
The data we collect is processed strictly to maintain our services:
To authenticate your identity and authorize access to your dashboard and reports.
To calculate and construct research datasets natively on our platform.
To communicate with you regarding service updates, critical security notifications, or support requests.
To improve product performance using aggregated analytics.
4. Infrastructure & Data Security
UX Metrics treats your data security with maximum priority.
Encryption in Transit: All communications between users, participants, and our systems are enforced with robust edge-TLS.
Encryption at Rest: All database structures in our care are protected via industry-standard AES-256 block-level encryption.
Trusted Partners: Our infrastructure runs completely on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) via Render, benefiting from their world-class, SOC-2 compliant data centers and perimeter security.
5. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or lease your data, or your participants' data, to any third-party marketing companies. Data is only shared with indispensable service providers required to run the platform:
Render / Google Cloud Platform: For scalable application hosting and secure database infrastructure.
Stripe: For handling secure PCI-compliant checkouts.
Google Analytics: For aggregate internal usage metrics.
6. Your Data Rights
You have full autonomy over your data. Regardless of your origin (GDPR in Europe or CCPA in California), UX Metrics provides universal rights to:
Access: Request an export of your personal and research data.
Erasure: Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated study data points.
Modification: Correct inaccurate information within your profile controls.
